Calcium might protect against some cancers

A study by the NIH and AARP of almost 500,000 older men and women indicates that diets rich in calcium might protect against some cancers, including colon cancer. The results don't seem to extend to calcium tablets, supporting the notion that food is a better source of nutrients than supplements are.
