New England, Hawaii students participate in exchange program

Students in New England who have been participating in a type of virtual exchange program with students in Hawaii -- sharing pictures and regional information -- will visit the state in April to build on what they've learned in the classroom. "The kids are itching to get deeper into what they're learning, and there's nothing deeper than putting your foot in the mud of a loi field and seeing it all with your own eyes. It brings it all to a whole other level," said Scott Strainge, curriculum coordinator for the humanities at Timberlane Regional High School.
