Prepping the lawn for growing season with simple tasks

The next few months are prime time to get your lawn in order for the growing season. "Scalping" a brown lawn by mowing it at a low setting can remove brown stubble and eliminate weeds. Weed-control sprays or granules should also be applied in February or March for best results, and some lawns with compacted soil may need to be aerated.
