Redbox sales skyrocket on $1 DVD rentals

Sales of DVDs were down 9% in 2008, but Redbox's $1 rentals rose 180% to $400 million, and the company predicts sales will jump an additional 80% this year. The Coinstar unit also said it believed its estimated 9% market share could increase substantially, as it has done in the established Houston and Denver markets, where the company reports a 20% share.
