Utah county to build $140 million upgrade to sewer plant

Residents of Weber County, Utah, may face higher sewer bills as the local utility builds a $140 million upgrade and expansion to the existing facility. The Central Weber Sewer Improvement District faces more stringent Environmental Protection Agency standards than when the plant first opened 50 years ago. Once the new facility is completed in 2011, the plant will process up to 75 million gallons of water per day.
