Gartner: Browser critical for Windows Phone 7 success

Mobile applications might play the part of the sexy software, but Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 platform could rise or fall on the back of its browser, asserts an analyst at Gartner. "Five years from now, I expect to see the majority of mobile 'apps' be Web apps, not native," writes analyst David Smith, who warns Microsoft not to scrimp on its browser's features.
