Massachusetts airport faces Friday deadline for FAA grant

The city manager of Worcester, Mass., is encouraging the City Council to apply for grants for the Worcester Regional Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration has $3.76 million in funds available for runway improvements, but the city must apply for the grants by Friday. The general aviation airport handles 66,000 corporate and general aviation landings and takeoffs each year.
