Stimulus funds have been committed to 12,000 infrastructure projects

A year into the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, more than half of the $64.1 billion in stimulus funds earmarked for infrastructure has been committed. The money is funding about 12,000 projects, including work on 24,000 miles of roadway, 1,100 bridge repairs and the start of a high-speed rail program. The total $862 billion stimulus is estimated to have created 1 million to 2.1 million jobs, according to reports.
