Teachers worry that training program would hurt students in Australia

Australia's Queensland teachers say a plan -- modeled after the Teach for America program -- to place new teachers at disadvantaged schools after only six weeks of training would hurt students. Queensland Teachers' Union President Steve Ryan says the plan will result in "unqualified teachers" being placed in disadvantaged schools. Ryan says those placements should go to unemployed teachers, who could be retrained.
