Wal-Mart Canada plans to open as many as 40 additional supercentres in 2010 after launching 28 last year. Meanwhile, other retailers in Canada continue to be cautious amid signs of sluggish consumer spending. A consumer research expert, however, said Canadians are faring better than their American peers. "Canada is showing some bounce back to a real good level of consumer confidence," said Todd Hale, vice president of Nielsen.
