Answering workers' questions about layoffs

Employers can't always reveal that they're considering layoffs, but it's not right to mislead workers either, says business writer Jeff Haden. Instead, he writes, managers need to be upfront that the firm is struggling and its leaders are looking at options, and that as soon as a decision is made, employees will get all the information, straight from the bosses.
