Ill. dyslexia program is delayed amid funding concerns

A bill creating an initiative in three school districts to provide early screening and intervention to students with dyslexia has stalled in the Illinois legislature because of funding concerns. Lawmakers offered other possible approaches, including one lawmaker who suggested the state school board provide information and training for teachers to screen their students for dyslexia in the classroom.
