Foodmakers promote balanced diets as an alternative to low-carbs only

Despite the low-carb craze, some U.S. foodmakers are stressing the importance of a more balanced diet, particularly in light of growing concerns about heart disease as a result of a high-protein, high-fat diet. A Kellogg TV commercial for Morningstar Farms vegetarian burgers and patties voices questions about low-carb diets, while H.J. Heinz Co.'s new "Truth About Carbs" line of Smart Ones frozen entrees are aimed at balanced eating.
