In New York, 1,012 schools record significant math and English gains

The state of New York yesterday released a list of 1,012 most-improved schools, where fourth- and eighth-grade math and English scores had registered significant improvement over the past five years. Principal Jane Ginsberg credited her staff's dedication in explaining how P.S. 82 in New York City raised the number of fourth-graders meeting state reading standards from 23% to 80%.
