Analysis: Democrats' health reforms could benefit device makers

Health care proposals supported by Democratic presidential hopefuls, such as expanding health insurance coverage, would benefit medical-device makers, says a Stanford Group analyst. Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama want more employer contributions for more coverage. Clinton also wants to require all individuals to buy health insurance. AdvaMed Chairman Edward Ludwig, who is also chairman and CEO of Becton Dickinson & Co., says that he "would not be averse to a concept of mandates if it is done right."
