Democrats release $410 billion appropriations package

A $410 billion appropriations package proposed by congressional Democrats on Monday was immediately attacked as being excessive by Republicans. Democrats had delayed finishing work on the nine bills until former President George W. Bush left office, as Bush had threatened to veto them. President Barack Obama will release his budget outline Thursday.
