Kensey Nash seeks permission to conduct human trials of knee implant

Kensey Nash has filed with the FDA an Investigational Device Exemption to conduct a human study on its cartilage-repair device, a biological knee implant designed to fix damaged cartilage. The device, which is made up of collagen and various minerals, could help avoid osteoarthritis and allow surgeons to reduce the number of knee-replacement surgeries, the company said.
