Intel-TSMC partnership is put on hold

Intel's partnership with TSMC to develop customizable versions of Intel's Atom chip is now officially on hiatus. The alliance was viewed as an effort to create Atom-based offerings that would compete with ARM processors in mobile and other devices. "I think we had a lot of key learnings from the partnership so far," Intel's Robert Crooke says. "We haven't given up. These things never happen super-fast."
