Salt Lake City pushes for convention center hotel plan

Salt Lake City's city council is moving ahead with a plan to ask for legislative authority to build a major headquarters hotel across from the Salt Palace Convention Center. While the project could run as high as $300 million, planners feel its 90,000 square feet of conference space and close proximity to the convention center would make the location more attractive to convention planners.
