SEC's rule changes for money-market funds will take effect May 5

The Securities and Exchange Commission said amendments to rules governing money-market funds will go into effect May 5. The changes are an effort to improve resiliency of the $3.3 trillion industry. While the changes go into effect in early May, the SEC is giving funds additional time to meet certain requirements.
