Study: High-fat diets increase stroke risks in women

Women who are older than 50 and consume a diet high in fat increase their risk of stroke by 44% compared with women who stick to low-fat diets, according to a study of more than 87,000 women reported at a conference of the American Stroke Association. A 30% greater risk of stroke among women eating the most trans fat also was found.
