The failure of U.S. lawmakers to reform the Toxic Substances Control Act continues to prompt states, including California, to enact their own chemical-management regulations, according to this analysis. In the meantime, the industry is "working in a collaborative fashion with EPA and other regulators to find ways to enhance the assessment of chemicals in commerce," said Cal Dooley, president and CEO of the American Chemistry Council. "We also are fully committed to working as constructive partners in ensuring the effectiveness of TSCA."
