Parents at Canadian school learn about new maths curriculum

Parents of students in a Canadian elementary school recently came together with educators to learn more about the new strategies teachers are using in maths class, including an emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving. While some parents have voiced concerns about the new curriculum, others say they have a better understanding and more appreciation for the changes since attending the informational session. School leaders say initial frustrations will pay off in the end.
