Diabetes linked to stroke risk in women, study finds

Women with diabetes were 19% to 42% more likely than those without diabetes to suffer stroke, and the elevated risk was particularly pronounced among those older than 55, according to a study reported in Diabetologia. However, researchers did not observe a link between stroke risk and diabetes among men.
