Variability between morning and evening home blood pressure readings among diabetes patients was associated with heart rate, smoking status and use of antihypertensive medications, Japanese researchers reported in the Journal of Human Hypertension. The study team said physicians should consider treating these factors to reduce variability in home blood pressure readings, which can play a role in the progression of organ damage.
