Mini-meals appear to promote physical activity in cats

Cats who are fed multiple meals a day, either on a regular schedule or randomly throughout the day, are more active than cats fed only once or twice a day, according to recent research. The study found that cats' physical activity increased during the two hours prior to mealtime. "If they know they are going to get fed, that's when they are really active, if they can anticipate it," said researcher Kelly Swanson.
