Pediatric group's guidelines highlight need for congenital heart screening

All newborns should be screened for congenital heart disease, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. The guidelines, published in the journal Pediatrics, formalize the current standard of conducting pulse oximetry tests for all newborns, according to co-editor and pediatrician Joseph Hagan.
