SoundFocus works to prevent hearing loss through hardware, apps

SoundFocus is hoping $1.7 million in seed money will help advance its mission of helping customers protect their hearing. The company is focused on providing technology that "tunes or rebalances the audio that reaches a listener's ears to match their hearing patterns," according to CEO Alex Selig, a co-founder. The company, which plans to charge for hardware but provide free apps, already offers an Apple iOS app that adjusts sound levels.
