Editorial: Open up Calif. system for awarding stem cell grants

Now that the funds from California's stem cell institute have begun flowing, the panel handing them out needs to be more transparent, the San Jose Mercury News said in an editorial. The newspaper said the public has a right to know who is applying, what they plan to study and whether those on the award committee have any conflicts of interest.
