Florida's governor joined six of his colleagues on Sunday to call for massive federal spending on infrastructure improvements. In a bipartisan press conference during the National Governors Association meeting, Gov. Charlie Crist had a message for Capitol Hill: "We need you to pay attention to the infrastructure of the entire country, whether it's bridges, roads, whatever it might be." At the same event, Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire called on the federal government to issue $60 billion in bonds to avoid a politically charged debate over raising gasoline taxes.
