Runway warning systems reduced close calls, auditors say

Federal auditors found that a warning system substantially cut the number of close calls between aircraft on a runway and taxiways. The FAA is now testing the system at San Diego and Dallas/Fort Worth international airports but officials have not decided whether to use the equipment at other busy airports in the U.S.
