Turkey sends troops into northern Iraq to attack rebels

Turkish troops crossed into northern Iraq to hunt Kurdish rebels before improving spring weather allows PKK guerrillas to launch raids. Turkey's military said the cross-border offensive would continue until they had stopped the threat. Ankara says PKK rebels have been using northern Iraq as a base to stage attacks in Turkey, including a series of deadly attacks on its troops late last year.
