Alaska lawmakers ask TSA to drop proposed small aircraft reg

Citing concerns about the adverse impact on operators of smaller aircraft, Alaska's state Senate has asked the U.S. Transportation Security Administration to drop plans for proposed restrictions on the aircraft. The rules would subject aircraft heavier than 12,500 pounds to the same security measures as those required for commercial jetliners, and they could devastate rural Alaska's aviation industry, lawmakers argued.
