Innovative engineers are developing ways to use tension and integrity to create greener buildings. For example, in the Netherlands, a sustainable dance floor made with electronics with embedded software components converts dancers' movements to electric power. Meanwhile, engineers have discovered that the addition of glass fibers can improve the mix fortification of concrete. They have also added metal fibers to concrete to create ductal concrete, which is more resistant to pollution than traditional concrete.
