Iowa considers worker-layoff notification rules, fines

Iowa legislators are drafting new rules on how and when businesses notify workers about reductions in force or shutdowns with fines for failure to comply. Andy Warren, NFIB/Iowa, questions how a fine on employers will save jobs. "My members' goal is to keep the employees they have through any means necessary," he said. "Threatening fines doesn't help us keep employees."
