NBCT named finalist for math, science teaching award

National Board Certified Teacher Alyssa Mann is a finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching. As part of the application process, the South Carolina teacher submitted a tape of one of her lessons. "My focus was really on inquiry-based science instruction, which is helping students generate their own questions and then being able to set up experiments to answer those questions, so the teacher is really a facilitator to their own learning," Mann said.
