According to eMarketer, U.S. spending on search engine marketing will nearly double from $12.2 billion in 2008 to $23.4 billion in 2013. All four types of search marketing will gain more marketer dollars each year. As marketers better understand the purpose of Web site optimization in their overall campaigns, spending for SEO will grow more each year than for the other three types of search marketing-and more than the total market.
