Stimulus package includes much-needed funds for sewers

Ohio will receive $224 million of the $4 billion dedicated to sewer projects in the federal economic-stimulus package. Local officials say federal money used for the state's sewers has declined from $70 million to $30 million over the past several years. As a result, sewer rates paid by residents have increased to cover the cost of maintenance and renovations.
