Study links obesity to premature death in men

A Swedish study that followed almost 46,000 men found those who were obese at age 18 were twice as likely to die prematurely as those who were normal-weight teenagers. Even being overweight raised the risk of premature death by one-third. Researchers said obesity and being overweight were as hazardous to health as heavy and light smoking.
