Boston schools chief plans overhaul of teacher evaluations

Boston schools Superintendent Carol R. Johnson says she plans to overhaul the teacher-evaluation system and supports a recommendation to tie teacher evaluations to student achievement. She did not offer specifics on what changes she might push for. A report released this week found about half of the city's teachers have not had a performance review in the past two years. Johnson said some of her proposals might have to be negotiated with the city's teachers union.
