Location-technology use requires balancing privacy, safety issues

CTIA-The Wireless Association® addressed a congressional panel this week on the issue of wireless-location technology and potential privacy issues. Michael Altschul, vice president and general counsel for CTIA, said there was a need to balance public safety with consumer privacy expectations.
