Obese patients are more likely to be referred for SPECT scan

Obese patients had more instances of positive tests for cardiovascular disease compared with non-obese patients, a study found, and they were more likely to have indeterminate test results that led to referral for a SPECT exam. The researchers also said obese patients had higher costs and longer hospital stays.
