Taxes may hold key to healthier shopping

Researchers conducted an experiment that they say shows promise for promoting low-calorie foods at the supermarket through taxes on products with high sugar and fat content. The study, which took participants on a hypothetical shopping trip, found raising the price on unhealthy foods made them less desirable to shoppers, while lowering prices on healthy options such as vegetables had no significant effect.
