White House is open to compromising on CFPA:

To get a bill for regulatory reform passed, the Obama administration has backed off from its insistence that a stand-alone Consumer Financial Protection Agency be established. President Barack Obama's economic team still prefers a stand-alone agency but is open to housing it inside the Treasury Department or another agency, sources said.
