AT&T sees Euro demand for home-monitoring technology

AT&T said it has found tremendous demand from European carriers for its Digital Life home-monitoring product and plans to license the connected-device service as part of its overall strategy to find new markets abroad. "We hoped two or three would be interested and actually a lot more than that were; it was unbelievable," said Glenn Lurie, the head of AT&T's emerging devices unit. Also at AT&T, CEO Randall Stephenson pressed governments to keep a hands-off approach as a combination of cloud-based services and 4G connectivity ushers in a "new era" of innovation in wireless services.
