GE-Hitachi explores option of enrichment plant at Ky. site

GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy plans to develop a laser-based uranium enrichment facility at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Kentucky, according to a report. The site was supposed to be shut down in 2012, but authorities struck an agreement to keep it open another year. GE's proposal could help save many jobs at the site.
