Survey finds S. Korean households struggling with debt burden

About 6 in 10 South Korean households report difficulties meeting monthly payments on debts, and 8% say they're spending as much as 40% of monthly income to cover interest and principal payments on loans, according to a Bank of Korea survey. The central bank has identified household debt as the gravest systemic risk to the economy, ahead of foreign-exchange volatility and falling house prices.
