ACLU raises concerns about Newark's stop-and-frisk procedures

The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey said in a report that while Newark's population is about half black, African-Americans account for 75% of the people subjected to police stop-and-frisk procedures. An examination of six months of police data revealed "several disturbing patterns," said Udi Ofer, executive director of the ACLU of New Jersey.
