CMS has released almost $21B in EHR incentives

The CMS confirmed Monday that it has released almost $21 billion in Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive payments to more than 340,000 Medicaid and Medicare eligible providers. The agency also announced in the HIMSS14 meeting that it has changed from post-pay to pre-pay audits, meaning that eligible professionals might be audited for demonstrating meaningful use before they receive an incentive.
