How Big Data companies can hold back innovation

The major business-to-business tech companies don't have much incentive to innovate on behalf of their customers, writes Paul Murphy. Innovations that let customers operate more quickly and efficiently also reduce their demand for the tech giants' server hardware, he explains, so it's up to tech-buyers to independently seek out better ways of doing business. "Ultimately, the buyers of technology are the heroes of our industry. They are our saving grace," he says.
